Another Month

It is hard to believe that it is already February. The last 5 months have been a complete blur.

Sweet Eli is turning into a pretty lovable kiddo and it is so fun to watch his interactions with Hadley. She is loving that he responds to her finally and they have been spending a lot more time playing together recently. She is so sensitive to his feelings and tries so hard to help him feel better any time he cries at all. He watches her so intently and his eyes light up anytime he catches her eye.
I really hope they will continue as friends throughout their childhood because they have such a neat bond already developing.

Hadley is really into making beds on the floor for Eli and he willingly obliges by falling asleep anywhere she'll prepare for him.
Development updates: Hadley has started writing long letters (called emails because she is a child of 2013...) and drawing proto-people- complete with legs, arms, hair and smiles. It is fun to watch her art start to have meaning. She has also started having more vivid dreams (ie- running into our room in the middle of the night upset that we took her sequence game away and last night that she couldn't find her sketch pad. Definite toddler nightmares :) She has also started telling pseudo jokes, making up lyrics to songs and her imagination is developing in substitution play.
Eli has discovered his toes and does some amazing twists and turns on his back. Serious hip swiveling, but no rolling or real translation across the floor. It looks like he is going to progress to the crazy back scoot that hadley adopted as her first form of transportation soon. He is starting to be able to balance for a second or two while sitting unsupported.

I'll be interested to see how much he weighs at his 6 month appointment in a couple weeks. He's already in some 12 month clothing. Its hard to believe that all 20 lbs of him has come exclusively from me (except that half a cell from josh...).
